Searching
You can search without being Registered or Logged in, but you
won’t be able to create a Lightbox, enlarge, send or order
an image.
Simple Search
Use the Simple search box at the top right hand corner of each
page for single word searches and quick searches. Our NEW search
engine looks for a String of letters. This will make your searching
quicker and much easier. You may not always need to type the
full word. For instance :-
CHOC CAKE will find all chocolate and cakes
ITAL will find Italy and Italian
Keywords are not case sensitive. Other than food words, descriptive
words or phrases such as: - cut out / still life / close up
/ raw / ingredient / can be added to help narrow your search.
Categories
Images are grouped into categories for easy general browsing
and generating ideas. The categories do not affect your search
and you can do a Simple Search from within any of these categories.
Complex Search
For a comlex search go to the Search
page. Type in the words you are looking for and then tick one
of the three options:
- Match at least one keyword
- Match all keywords
- Match Exact Phrase
You should also click or unclick the other search options.
If unsure of a spelling, insert two or more words e.g. Hummous
and Hoummus and then tick the first box. Search on BBQ NOT Barbecue,
BUT Christmas NOT XMAS
You can also search by number if you already know the reference.

Lightbox Page
You can set up several lightboxes at once, with a maximum of
60 images per lightbox. First go to the
Lightbox page, then the lightbox Manager to set up and name
a lightbox. Do this first so that your chosen images go straight
into the correct lightbox. Then add as many images as you wish,
or set up another Lightbox. Simply delete a lightbox when it
is finished with.
Note that if you go from search to Lightbox you need to Back
Arrow to get back to your search.
Lightboxes will automatically be removed after 6 months but
if you require longer please email frontdesk@foodfeatures.net
with your requirements.
You can send a Lightbox to another colleague or department
simply by following the instructions under Email Lightbox. They
can then add your Lightbox to theirs by following the instructions
on the Link in the email. The recipient will need to be registered
and logged in to download and save your images. However you
cannot sent a lightbox again at a later stage without renaming
it.
Forwarded Single images go automatically into the current lightbox
